A friend of ours wrote to say he happened to be speaking to a guy at a coffee shop and mentioned the problem with spraying and honeybees. And the guy turned out to be R. Michael Sanders, an environmental specialist for Dallas in the department of code compliance. He said that a house with beehives could be taken off the list if you call 214-670-9503. I don't know if having bees is the only allowance but I imagine respiratory problems or chemical sensitivities might also work. I will call first thing in the morning and report back.
If we can get whole neighborhoods to get off the spray list, it could really make a difference. Of course, there's no way to get taken out of the aerial spray area.
