Jenny Land from Concerned Citizens for Safer Mosquito Control contacted us about their actions behind the scenes. Here is what she wrote:
We will be raising these concerns regarding aerial spraying in front of the commissioners Tuesday morning (14th) and our seeking other speakers for the cause. You can contact Jenny Land at schimmysham@yahoo.com for further information.
Also, they will be at the Dallas city council meeting on Wednesday (15th). We would like as many people as possible to come out and speak. You do not need to say much more than a sentence. Strength is in numbers! Here is the procedure for signing up:
A person wishing to address the City Council must first register with the City Secretary and provide the following information: name, residence address, daytime telephone number, the subject matter to be presented, and whether the subject is on the current City Council meeting agenda. A person may register either in person or by telephone. The earliest a person may register for an upcoming City Council meeting is the beginning of the next regular business day following the previous City Council meeting. The deadline for registering to address the council is 9:00 a.m. of the day of the meeting. See also these revisions to City Secretary procedures for registering to speak.
For more information about the city council meeting procedures, please refer to the City Secretary's FAQ.
We really need people to turn out for this and let them know we do not want poison sprayed on us!
